202-220 S State: Splendid Luxury Apartments in Chicago’s Loop

Extensive plans for new luxury apartments are in place for these once deteriorating historic office buildings in downtown Chicago’s Loop. Taking over the 1913 Consumer’s building and the adjacent 1915 Century building, this multi-structure community will receive a modern renovation, while preserving their historic features with an updated glassy addition.

Located at State and Adams, in the heart of the Loop, these downtown luxury apartments will offer easy accessibility to anywhere in the downtown area, walking distance to museums and green space, and many dining and shopping options! Let’s take a look at what’s in store for 202-220 S State apartments.

202-220 S State: Experienced Developers and Designers

The developer for this project is CA Ventures, while Antunovich Associates will be the designers behind the glass addition. Some of Antunovich’s past projects include downtown luxury apartments 805 N Lasalle and Bernardin in River North, as well as Aurelien in the Gold Coast. With that kind of experience in luxury residences, we’re sure 202-220 S State will live up to its grand potential.

What to Anticipate Living at 202-220 S State

The 22-story Consumers building at 220 S State will be rehabilitated to approximately 270 “micro” apartments. In case you aren’t familiar with this terms, a micro-apartment is a one-room self-contained living space, typically having access to a communal kitchen area, bathroom/shower, and some form of a patio or outdoor space.

The 16-story Century building on 202 S State will be renovated and expanded to 159 units, ranging from studios to one bedroom luxury apartments. Plans are also in place to build a 15-story structure that will connect the two buildings.

Situated on the great shopping offered on State St, the renovation will also include 45,000 square feet of retail space. While there are no plans to offer on-site parking (you can definitely live in the Loop without a car), there will be a bike space designated to each unit, with plenty of off-site garages nearby, just in case.

As with any new luxury apartments in downtown Chicago, we expect this development to be dog-friendly. Since Maggie Daley Dog Park just a short walk away, your canine companion will also get to enjoy the perks of living in the Loop!
