And, when the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup, the parade starts right here in the West Loop and travels down Randolph Street toward downtown! In the summer months, you’ll enjoy weekly farmer’s markets and fun festivals, too. My favorite is the annual Taste of Randolph, a dining-focused street festival that’s held every summer.

West Loop is also full of awesome fitness centers. Yogis have their pick of several studios, including Core Power Yoga. If you really want your booty kicked, head to CrossTown Fitness for a HIIT class. But of course, if you rent at one of the new apartments in West Loop, you’ll have state-of-the-art fitness facilities at your fingertips. Milieu apartments has my favorite gym in West Loop, with stunning views of Chicago and an outdoor workout space too!

In its early days, the West Loop was home to slaughterhouses and meatpacking plants, earning it the nickname “The Butcher’s District.” The area was Chicago’s center of commerce and trade, with railroads transporting livestock and meat across the country.

There’s great shopping in West Loop too! Along Randolph Street, find everything from national brands like Madewell and Anthropologie to local boutiques like Notre. This neighborhood is trendy, but it’s practical too, with a Target, Mariano’s, and Whole Foods nearby.
