GOLD COAST
APARTMENTS FOR RENT
As the name suggests, many Gold Coast apartments for rent face the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. Despite the area’s historic roots, the suites in Gold Coast have all of the modern amenities. Some boast interiors so stylish you’d expect to see them in downtown neighborhoods like Lakeshore East or River North. Some of the more expensive buildings in the neighborhood are also some of the oldest. Freshly restored, these suites incorporate all of the modern conveniences while still honouring their classic 1920s architecture.
LIFESTYLE + AMENITIES
NIGHTLIFE & ENTERTAINMENT
In the warmer months, charming Oak Street Beach, bustling Navy Pier, and the amazing Lakefront Trail are easily accessible by foot or Divvy Bike, which is the easy-to-rent bike share program in the city. Summers are SO fun in Chicago, and you’ll be in the center of it all. You’ll have plenty of places to enjoy big city views and take in the fresh Lake Michigan air. As if that wasn’t enough, Gold Coast dwellers can easily walk to Lincoln Park—the actual park! You’ll find an impressive—and free!—zoo and the Saturday morning Green City Farmer’s Market where you can pick up plenty of fresh, organic produce.
Dining
There’s plenty of nightlife and shopping near Gold Coast, Chicago rentals. One of the hottest spots for dining and drinking is “Viagra Triangle,” which is a funny nickname us Chicagoans gave to the area. (Ask a local about the name, and we’re sure they can explain it to you!) Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse has been feeding businesspeople red meat and cocktails for years.
There’s also a fair share of classic Chicago neighborhood pubs and the granddaddy of all deep dish pizza joints: Lou Malnati’s. If you haven’t been yet…go. But please read this disclaimer: Think twice before eating more than two pieces of deep dish in one sitting. (It’s SO filling!) If these hotspots aren’t enough, you’re not far from neighborhoods like River North and Old Town.
Shopping
Luxury shopping can be found along North Rush Street, a great fashion corridor that’s quieter than Michigan Avenue, but just as impressive. Department stores like Barney’s New York and Bloomingdale’s are based here, as well as plenty of high-end boutiques like Intermix and favorites like Madewell. The Magnificent Mile’s fast fashion including Topshop and Uniqlo are only blocks away, as well as the indoor mall, Water Tower Place. When it comes to shopping, this neighborhood has you covered. You’ll definitely be tempted to upgrade your wardrobe!
Transit
The Gold Coast is great for walking or public transportation. The Clark/Division or Chicago stop on the CTA’s Red Line are the easiest ways to access the El Train, so getting into the Loop or north of the city will be a piece of cake. For drivers, Lake Shore Drive is the closest, fastest way to enter and exit the city.
