As far as dining goes, River North is home to some of the city’s best chefs, and you won’t have to walk far for an outstanding meal. Rick Bayless is a local celebrity chef with Topolobampo, Frontera, and Xoco forming a trifecta of gourmet Mexican delights. The Purple Pig, GT Fish & Oyster, and Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf are all classy places that will impress any date.

The Chicago River—and the bridges that grace it—is one of the most photographed and memorable views of the city. Along the water in River North is where you’ll find the newly revamped Chicago Riverwalk, which comes alive each summer. Bars and restaurants like City Winery pop up temporarily so locals can enjoy a drink with stellar views. In a waterfront River North rental, you’ll have magnificent views of some of the city’s best downtown architecture, like the Wrigley Building and the Tribune Tower—and you’ll only be steps away from the city’s popular architectural river cruise.

Fun Fact

The iconic Ed Debevic’s restaurant was famous for being sassy to customers. One day David Copperfield walked in and a server-friend of ours put an empty plate in front of him and said, “Make your food appear”. He wasn’t impressed. We’re still hoping this Chicago icon makes a comeback.
