LIVING IN CHICAGO’S WEST LOOP

When people are looking for an apartment to rent in Chicago, West Loop is one of our favorite neighborhoods to recommend. The reasons to live in West Loop are endless, but our quick list is – it has the best food in the city, the vibe is hipster-chic, and you’re sure to find a cool apartment to call home.

THE FOOD SCENE IN WEST LOOP

Yes, wanting to live near the best restaurants in Chicago is a good reason to live in West Loop. Heck, it’s maybe the best reason!

If you’re a foodie, you might be singularity focused on looking for apartments near Randolph Street. Good news, you’ve got lots of options! Once you get settled in, get out and explore West Loop’s restaurants.

After you spend a little time on Restaurant Row, you’ll understand why Chicagoans from all over the city flock to West Loop. Favorites include Stephanie Izard’s namesake restaurants Girl and the Goat and Little Goat Diner. You’ll also find mouth-watering burgers at Au Cheval and live concerts at City Winery. And Randolph Street is just the beginning. Nearby, side streets offer everything from incredible Mexican at Federales Chicago to BLVD Steakhouse. West Loop is also the best neighborhood for unique coffee shops. The coolest is Sawada Coffee, with its punk rock vibe and crazy-delicious donuts.

If you want to live close to the food action, my top pick is Union West apartments; a great new apartment building just a short walk from Randolph Street.

THINGS TO DO IN WEST LOOP

Live in West Loop, and you’ll never go hungry. And you’ll also never be bored! There’s always something to do in the neighborhood, and West Loop’s neighbors benefit from a calendar that’s packed full of entertainment options.

Sports fans will love living near the United Center, where the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks host home games. And, when the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup, the parade starts right here in the West Loop and travels down Randolph Street toward downtown! In the summer months, you’ll enjoy weekly farmer’s markets and fun festivals, too. My favorite is the annual Taste of Randolph, a dining-focused street festival that’s held every summer.

West Loop is also full of awesome fitness centers. Yogis have their pick of several studios, including Core Power Yoga. If you really want your booty kicked, head to CrossTown Fitness for a HIIT class. But of course, if you rent at one of the new apartments in West Loop, you’ll have state-of-the-art fitness facilities at your fingertips. Milieu apartments has my favorite gym in West Loop, with stunning views of Chicago and an outdoor workout space too!

There’s great shopping in West Loop too! Along Randolph Street, find everything from national brands like Madewell and Anthropologie to local boutiques like Notre. This neighborhood is trendy, but it’s practical too, with a Target, Mariano’s, and Whole Foods nearby. West Loop Chicago apartments are a perfect distance from fine dining, local sporting events, and all the basic amenities you might need during your stay.
