One of our favorite neighborhoods, the South Loop, is getting yet another fabulous luxury apartment high-rise, a mixed-use property called The Paragon. Situated just a block away from the hustle and bustle of Roosevelt and Michigan, and a 3-minute walk to the Roosevelt CTA stop, commuters and “South-Loopers” alike are going to love The Paragon.

If you are like me, you might have wondered what Paragon means. So, I looked it up 🙂 According to our friends at dictionary.com, it means something that is “regarded as a perfect example of a particular quality”, or “a perfect diamond of 100 carats or more”. That sounds pretty tantalizing, so how did they do?

Pretty great if you ask me! Featuring a lovely beveled glass design (inspired by that diamond I’m sure) The Paragon reaches 47 stories and offers 500 luxury apartments in studio, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom options. Residents should expect plenty of options for stunning, unobstructed views of the Chicago skyline, as there are no high-rises directly situated next to the property.

What to Expect Living at The Paragon

As the name tells us, The Paragon left no detail untouched and it truly shows! These thoughtfully crafted units offer spacious layouts that include:

  • Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows.
  • Nest thermostats.
  • Wood-grain laminate flooring.
  • Quartz countertops.
  • Whirlpool stainless steel appliances.
  • In-unit washer and dryer.
  • Tile mosaic backsplash.

My favorite detail is some of their off-kilter floor-to-ceiling windows on their corner units. The design of the exterior of the building is actually faceted, so some of their windows aren’t 90 degrees, which gives a kaleidoscope-like framing of the city views. For me, this is the kind of creative architecture that makes Chicago’s skyline so iconic. Thanks, Paragon!

Features and Amenities

With an entire floor dedicated to amenities that are designed to maintain your health and happiness, The Paragon keeps pace with or surpasses most South Loop and downtown luxury apartments. This list might make you a little jealous of where you’re living now :).

  • Resort-style pool with cabanas.
  • Spa with sauna, steam, and whirlpool.
  • Outdoor seating with grilling stations.
  • TV/media room.
  • Working spaces.
  • Clubroom with billiards.
  • Party room.
  • A roof-top fitness center with a yoga studio.
  • Roof-top Sky Lounge.

For me, having a whole floor dedicated to the amenities was really nice. Some buildings divide them up by floors, but The Paragon has a seamless flow that goes from work-space to working out, and from pool to party space.

Nearly every new luxury apartment in downtown Chicago is pet-friendly, and The Paragon is no different. Pamper your pooch with the private dog park and pet spa in this dog-friendly apartment community.

Smart Technology

One reason we expect The Paragon to live up to its name as a model of excellence is that it’s committed to installing IOTAS smart home technology in all of its units. Each luxury apartment comes with an IOTAS hub, smart switches, smart outlets, door sensors, motion sensors, and smart thermostats. This technology interfaces with third-party smart products like Amazon Echo, Nest, August, and others.

Walking Distances from The Paragon

Within about a 10-minute walk of the Paragon, residents have access to all of life’s necessities, including food, gas, coffee and a Trader Joe’s! Grant Park is a block and a half away and the Museum Campus is a six-minute bike ride down South Indiana Avenue. Here are what’s close by:

  • 5-minute walk to Jewel-Osco
  • 5-minute walk to Starbucks
  • 6-minute walk to Trader Joe’s
  • 7-minute walk to CTA Roosevelt Red, Green, and Orange lines
  • 8-minute walk to Grant Park
  • 11-minute walk to Target
  • 11-minute walk to ICON Movie theater
