Plans for new downtown Chicago luxury apartments in West Loop’s Fulton Market’s Fabbri Sausage Plant are moving right along. Despite taking a two-story bite out of the original blueprints, construction plans are now underway on the new 20-story tower slated for 166 N Aberdeen.

Designed by MCZ Development, the mixed-use tower will feature a handsome brick base that will blend right into the look and feel of the neighborhood. The building will feature the vintage-meets-new-construction edge MCZ is known for. As the building stretches upward, it will take on a glassy, more modern flair, culminated at the very top with a state-of-the-art sky lounge for residents.
The new luxury apartments in Chicago’s West Loop will have 236 upscale rental units, a mix of studio, 1-, and 2-bedroom rental apartments. There will be 5,000 square feet of commercial space divided between the building’s frontages on Aberdeen and May, flanking the existing retail on Aberdeen. Ground-level space of the tower will also include retail shops.
The transit-oriented residence will host just seventy devoted parking spots – all the more reason to ditch the car and walk or ride.
Dishing Out the Amenities
Rest assured the new apartments in West Loop will be packed with amenities. MCZ would have it no other way.
What we know so far is that there will be a pool with a party deck, a club room for socializing, expansive exercise facilities, and a sky garden. The much-anticipated sky lounge will offer breathtaking views from the 13th floor.
This residence will possibly be the pet-friendliest apartment in the West Loop. Your four-legged friend will have tons of fun in the 1,100 square foot in-house dog run. Just down the street a stretch, you and your furbaby will find two parks – Skinner Park and Mary Barthelme Park.
