Mega Mall Transforming into New Logan’s Square Luxury Apartments

The once-beloved Mega Mall in downtown Chicago is about to attract shoppers of a different kind – apartment shoppers!

Located in the growing Logan Square neighborhood, on the 2500 block of N Milwaukee Avenue, the multi-use residential building will sit where the former flea market once stood. Dubbed “Logan’s Crossing”, this 7-story project promises to be one of the largest in the neighborhood.

These new luxury apartments in Chicago’s Logan Square are slated to open their doors in November 2020. The property has been in the works since 2015 and finally broke ground in early 2019.  The apartments will feature studio, 1-, and 2-bedrooms and join the transit-oriented trend that has become so popular in Chicago and other metropolitan areas.

Nestled between two CTA blue line stops, Logan Square and California are only a short 8-minute walk. This is an ideal location for those who need easy and quick access to O’Hare airport and downtown Chicago. I-90/94 is also less than 5-minutes away.

Devine Development and Design

The attractive brick-clad duo structures are the masterpieces of Terraco Real Estate and Fifield Realty Corp. While Terraco had a more prominent role in the early stages, Fifield has recently shelled out funds to take the helm from here on out with Terraco taking the backseat as a minor partner. Fifield Realty Corp is also behind 727 W Madison in West Loop, which opened in 2018.

Chicago’s own Antunovich Associates has the architectural contract. Staffed by 150 professional designers, the well-seasoned firm is fully qualified for the project that will include 220 apartment units, 110 parking spaces, and 67,000 square feet of commercial space.

The 27,400 square-feet next to the apartments will be anchored by a small-format Target. An elevated pedestrian footbridge will connect the two structures.

We’re awaiting official word, but with all the pet-friendly apartments already established in Logan’s Square, our fingers are crossed this new property will welcome your dog with open arms.

With such professionals driving this project, fabulous features and amazing amenities are sure to abound.

A Look Around the Square

The Logan Square neighborhood mixes the quaint tree-lined streets with the contemporary conveniences of the Northside Corridor. It’s bursting with cool restaurants, cocktail and sports bars, and entertainment venues.

Quirky coffee shops like New Wave Coffee and Gaslight Coffee Roasters get your morning off to a good start.

Restaurants like Lula’s Café, the Rocking Horse, The Owl, Paulie G’s, Marcello’s Father & Son, Estero, Black Lion, Furious Spoon, and the Whistler have made the area a mecca for excellent eating and drinking. Local Logan Theater is a fun place to catch a movie and enjoy a drink from the vintage bar.

Want to go for a stroll? Logan Square Park is nearby and features great green space to relax and play in. It’s also a nice place to let your dog get some energy out (although he will need to be on a leash).
